Bartlett Yancey's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Sidney, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Tyler Newcomb who scored 28 points. That was a full 35.4% of Bartlett Yancey's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Ouzts, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Southeast Alamance got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jerry Sims out in front who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Sims is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games he's played. Davian Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with four steals.
Bartlett Yancey has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Southeast Alamance, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.
Bartlett Yancey will head out on the road to face off against Jordan-Matthews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bartlett Yancey is coming into the contest with seven straight defeats on the road, meaning Jordan-Matthews will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Southeast Alamance, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seaforth at 8:00 p.m. Southeast Alamance knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Seaforth likes a good challenge.
