East's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They strolled past McKinley with points to spare, taking the game 49-30. That's another feather in the cap for East, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, McKinley saw an underclassman step up: Kherington Stanford scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Ferri, who scored six points.
East now has a winning record of 8-7. As for McKinley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East will take on the Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Boardman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for McKinley, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Struthers is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
