Basketball Recap: Henderson Collegiate Takes a Loss

Henderson Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Voyager Academy Vikings and fell 82-45. The Pride were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Henderson Collegiate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deion Lemay, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Lemay is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Marcus, who posted six points.

Voyager Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Manny Pullium, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Pullium has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Darin Jones, who had 11 points and five assists.

Henderson Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Voyager Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Henderson Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-45 win against Oxford Prep on the 17th. As for Voyager Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 82-65 victory against Williams on the 20th.
