Poway and Del Norte are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Titans will host the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Poway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Poway got the win against San Marcos by a conclusive 15-1. The Titans have beaten the Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Mya McGowan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophia Burmeister was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Menges was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Poway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Marcos only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Del Norte came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Broncos 6-4. That's two games straight that the Nighthawks have won by exactly two runs.
Brooklyn Giaime made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Giaime was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carissa Camaclang, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Kyles, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Poway pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1.
Del Norte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Poway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. It's a different story for Del Norte, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Poway's hitters?
Poway came out on top in a nail-biter against Del Norte in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Nighthawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
