The North Miami Warriors will face off against the Pioneer Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Miami is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
North Miami had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Central Noble put an end to it on Monday. The Warriors lost 7-0 to the Cougars. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
Erika Raber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Pioneer came out on top against North White on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run seventh inning. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Vikings. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 11 runs or more this season.
Victoria Bingamen made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Bingamen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hollie Zellers, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addison Kennell, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Pioneer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.
Pioneer is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for North Miami, they moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Miami hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Pioneer struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Miami might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Pioneer in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
