This season hasn't been kind to the Grand Island Islanders, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were beaten by Lincoln Southeast 67-7 on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grand Island has scored all season.
Nyaruot Wal was Grand Island's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Elli Ward held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Grand Island's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Lincoln Southeast, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Grand Island will play host again and welcome North Platte, where tip off is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. Lincoln Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bryan at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Bryan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
