Basketball Recap: LEE Piles Up the Points Against Madison

LEE entered their tilt with Madison on Wednesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They breezed by the Madison Mavericks to the tune of 74-41. The Volunteers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Leading LEE to victory were Rosanelly Pastrano and Lilah Yanover. Pastrano dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Yanover posted 24 points along with six boards and three steals. Pastrano's evening made it 16 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nena Alvarado, who had eight points.

Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Jada Castleberry, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Castleberry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Sophia Campa was another key player, putting up six points.

LEE has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LEE will welcome Churchill at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Churchill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully LEE likes a good challenge. As for Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against SA Roosevelt at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison is facing SA Roosevelt at the right time seeing as SA Roosevelt is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
