The American Patriots will be playing at home against the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
American can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game last Wednesday. They put the hurt on Miami Springs with a sharp 34-12 win. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for American's eight-point performance the contest before.
American's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brown Davin led the charge by rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Johnny Henderson, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Meanwhile, Pembroke Pines Charter had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Nova with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 27-8.
Jayden Gonzalez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.4% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Clement, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Nova to a paltry 70 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Pembroke Pines Charter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out ten times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
American is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
American couldn't quite finish off Pembroke Pines Charter in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 23-20. Will American have more luck at home instead of on the road?
