Baseball Recap: Carvers Bay Has No Trouble Against Hardeeville

The Carvers Bay Bears got the win against the Hardeeville Canes on Tuesday by a conclusive 22-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Clark Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Carvers Bay is 2-1 when Jones allows one or fewer hits, but 5-13 otherwise. Jones was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Carson Lewis was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Carvers Bay: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Lewis, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Carvers Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Carvers Bay's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Hardeeville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Carvers Bay didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-9 loss against Lowcountry Leadership on the 14th. Hardeeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
