The Newington Nor'easters will head out on the road to face off against the Windsor Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Windsor took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Newington, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, everything went Newington's way against Middletown as Newington made off with a 56-36 win.
Bela Cucuta was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 25 points along with three steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Miller, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Windsor came up short against Glastonbury on Friday and fell 53-41.
Newington pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Newington strolled past Windsor when the teams last played back in February by a score of 68-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
