The Northwood Temple Academy Eagles will head out to challenge the Mintz Christian Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwood Temple Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season.
Northwood Temple Academy will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Village Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Knights. The Eagles have beaten the Knights the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.
Bailey DeCarmine was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. DeCarmine was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Carly Bailey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Wood was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Northwood Temple Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mintz Christian Academy came up short against Spirit of Life Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 16-10.
Northwood Temple Academy pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.0 runs over those games. As for Mintz Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Northwood Temple Academy took their win against Mintz Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
