The Rossview Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Springfield Yellow Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rossview barely beat Montgomery Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Monday. The Hawks have beaten the Indians the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Indians has come to flipping the script.
Avery Rauscher made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Rossview let Madelyn Fillers and McKenzie Quick run wild. Fillers went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI, while Quick went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Quick has posted since back in March. Evon Dowlen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Rossview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springfield). They put the hurt on Clarksville with a sharp 19-10 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won three contests in a row.
Abigail Hyde and Grace Head did most of the damage at the plate: Hyde fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4, while Head fired off two home runs, five runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Makaylyn Coleman, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Rossview's record now sits at 4-8. As for Springfield, their record is now 6-10-1.
Rossview couldn't quite finish off Springfield when the teams last played back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
