Jay had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over the MacArthur Brahmas. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Brahmas back in November, they had to take a 43-39 defeat.

Jay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ny'Ashia Barnes, who went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Garcia, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, MacArthur still got an impressive performance from Ellie Lee, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 23 points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Lee a new career-high in blocks (two). Faith Thomas was another key player, putting up nine points.

Jay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for MacArthur, their record now sits at 16-7.

Jay and Harlandale will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlandale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Jay likes a good challenge. MacArthur will take on Southside in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.
