It was a good run, but the Show Low Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to Camp Verde on the road by a decisive 84-70 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (65), Show Low still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Show Low still got an impressive performance from Preston Power, who scored 21 points. Power scored a full 30% of Show Low's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Brewer , who scored 12 points.
Camp Verde got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Mcmahon-fullmer out in front who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Mcmahon-fullmer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Bahe, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Show Low's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Camp Verde, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Show Low is on the road again on Thursday and play against Parker at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Camp Verde will finish 2023 at home by hosting Hopi at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopi has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 395 points over their last five games.
