Woodward Academy is 3-0 against Mundy's Mill since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Woodward Academy War Eagles will be playing at home against the Mundy's Mill Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodward Academy entered their tilt with Jonesboro with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Woodward Academy was the clear victor by a 29-6 margin over Jonesboro. Given Woodward Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Jonesboro is ranked 182nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodward Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Walker, who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown. Lucas Farrington was another key contributor, rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mundy's Mill owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past Rockdale County 27-0 at home. The win was just what Mundy's Mill needed coming off of a 28-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Woodward Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.2 points per game. As for Mundy's Mill, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Woodward Academy won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, slipping by Mundy's Mill 11-10. Does Woodward Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mundy's Mill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
