Edisto extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-6. They lost 19-4 to the Barnwell Warhorses. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhorses this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on Monday.
Edisto saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Bramblett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Sarayah Hart, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Barnwell, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Warhorses, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Barnwell's side, Kensley Terrapin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Terrapin has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Barnwell let Shalayah Badger and Laney Grubbs run wild. Badger got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Grubbs got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Shaelyn Badger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edisto will host Williston-Elko at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barnwell, they will welcome Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
