Middleton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elsie Wyatt out in front who went 10 of 15 en route to 25 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Wyatt a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Zoey Blackwell, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 15 points and eight steals.
Middleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Emmett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Vallivue 47-26 on Thursday. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Huskies had established a 20 point advantage.
Middleton better keep an eye on Natalie Goslin. She was instrumental in Emmett's win, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Goslin is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Hadley, who posted five points and five steals.
Emmett is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Middleton, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Middleton hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 68.7 points per game. It's a different story for Emmett, though, as they've been averaging only 37.7 points. The only thing between Middleton and another offensive beatdown is Emmett. Will they be able to keep them contained?
