The Nardin Academy Gators will challenge the Bishop Kearney Kings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nardin Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Bishop Kearney will come in with three straight victories.
On Monday, Nardin Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Nichols and fell 6-4.
Adeline Lugo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Madison Scarpace was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bishop Kearney got the win against Eastridge on Tuesday by a conclusive 19-7.
Claire Spears was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Spears was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Coral Enscoe was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sara Skripnik, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Bishop Kearney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Bishop Kearney's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Nardin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Nardin Academy took their victory against Bishop Kearney in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
