The Pulaski County Maroons will take on the South Warren Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pulaski County has given up an average of 28 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pulaski County lost 50-30 to Johnson Central on Friday. The loss was the Maroons' first of the season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kasen Brock, who picked up 82 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 84 yards. Another passer making a difference was Zak Anderson, who threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, South Warren strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 33-21 victory over Hopkinsville. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).
South Warren's win came from a few key players Pulaski County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Camden Page, who threw for 155 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes. What's more, he racked up 142.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden York, who rushed for 91 yards and one score.
Special teams played a big role in the game for South Warren, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Isaiah Bridges, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
South Warren didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of York and Bridges.
South Warren's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pulaski County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
