It was a good run, but the Central Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North 57-51. Central lost against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 76-45 score last time.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Morton, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Morton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Devin Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Central's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will take on Surrattsville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Surrattsville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Douglass at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Douglass focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday.
