The North Haven Nighthawks will face off against the Notre Dame Green Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Haven will be strutting in after a win while Notre Dame will be coming in after a loss.
North Haven is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Cheshire, who was ranked 24th at the time (North Haven was ranked 15th). The Nighthawks took down the Rams 35-21 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Artie McCormack IV had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 180 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. North Haven also got a significant boost from Bret White, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Haven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-27 heartbreaker at the hands of Law. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Green Knights couldn't quite close it out.
North Haven will need to focus on slowing down Luke Miklos, one of several Notre Dame players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 188 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Joe Capasso, who threw for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes.
Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for North Haven, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. North Haven has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 290.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame struggles in that department as they've been averaging 147.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Haven and Notre Dame were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but North Haven suffered an agonizing 21-20 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Capasso, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 122 yards and one TD. Now that the Nighthawks know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
