The Hallandale Chargers have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Cypress Bay Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Hallandale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Monday, Hallandale had to suffer through a rough 59-10 loss at the hands of Piper. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hallandale has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cypress Bay put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Monarch at home to the tune of 55-11. Cypress Bay might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.
Cypress Bay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Agam Gago, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Gago scored 15 or more points. Ellie McKinney was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Hallandale's loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.2 points per game. As for Cypress Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Hallandale came up short against Cypress Bay in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 56-45. Thankfully for Hallandale, Sophia Jones (who scored 29 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
