The Zachary Broncos put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Central. Given Zachary's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Central is ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kameron Thomas had a dynamite game for Zachary, rushing for 188 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Trey?dez Green, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Zachary's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zachary will take on Liberty Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Magnet comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
