The La Salle Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-14, which was the final score in La Salle's tilt against St. Anthony on Friday. While losing is never fun, La Salle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 540th, while St. Anthony is ranked 250th).
Although La Salle took the loss, they still got scores from Mauricio Pavon and David Vanden Bosch.
Meanwhile, after only two points in their last matchup, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Genevieve on Friday. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy claimed a resounding 35-7 victory over St. Genevieve on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
La Salle now has a losing record at 4-5. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
La Salle was dealt a bruising 61-6 loss at the hands of St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can La Salle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
