Lexington is 1-9 against Richmond since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lexington Minutemen will be playing at home against the Richmond Spartans at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
After a string of three wins, Lexington's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plattsburg. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (58), Lexington still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Richmond was able to grind out a solid victory over Pleasant Hill two weeks ago, taking the game 72-64.
Lexington's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Richmond, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Lexington suffered a grim 68-45 defeat to Richmond when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Lexington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
