The Sammamish RedHawks won the last time they faced the Foster Bulldogs, and things went their way on Saturday too. Sammamish walked away with a 48-36 win over Foster. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sammamish.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sammamish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Eastman, who scored 29 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Essie Hemnes, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Ariyana Deloney and Mia Pittman certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Deloney scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals, while Pittman scored five points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. That was a full 44.4% of Foster's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mele Fataua, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Foster smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sammamish only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Sammamish is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Foster, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Sammamish will head out on the road to square off against Tyee at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tyee comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Foster, they will be playing at home against Lindbergh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
