Kankakee has gone 6-1 against Grant Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Kays will square off against the Dragons at 11:00 a.m. Grant Park took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kankakee, who comes in off a win.

Kankakee took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Thornton as they made off with a 19-0 win. The Kays' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jacob Vinardi looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Jay'Den Jones and Bryce Deany did most of the damage at the plate: Jones got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Deany scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Kyree Sykes also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Grant Park lost 12-2 to Beecher on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Grant Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Heldt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Kankakee's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Grant Park, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Kankakee's way against Grant Park in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Kankakee made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kays since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
