Westview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Valley Center Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything went Westview's way against Escondido as Westview made off with a 35-14 victory. The result was nothing new for Westview, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Amare Gomez and Mason Walsh were among the main playmakers for Westview as the former gained 156 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns.
Valley Center fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Escondido with points to spare two weeks ago, taking the game 28-13. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Valley Center was the (much) better team in the second half.
Kevin Garcia was a one-man wrecking crew for Valley Center as he picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Braylon Mitchell, who threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
Westview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Valley Center, their victory two weeks ago bumped their record up to 3-5.
