Cherryvale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the St. Paul Indians at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cherryvale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Cherryvale's 14-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 52-38 to Marmaton Valley.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Landon Fox, who scored ten points along with two blocks. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Bricen Raida, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to St. Paul, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They were outmatched by Iola on the road and fell 68-31. While losing is never fun, St. Paul can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Iola is ranked 150th).
Cherryvale bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
