Millburn is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Orange is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Millburn Millers will take on the Orange Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Millburn came up short against North Star Academy and fell 54-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Millburn has scored all season.
Millburn's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Plotkin, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Zach Benmorits who scored 16 points. Benmorits is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chace Redler, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Millburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Orange was able to grind out a solid victory over Bloomfield on Saturday, taking the game 63-54. Given Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Bloomfield is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Millburn's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Orange, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Millburn was able to grind out a solid win over Orange in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 54-47. Does Millburn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Orange turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
