Devone Boone and James Harrell provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Aberdeen. The connection went for 91 yards, the longest such play in Southern Maryland this season.
Patuxent extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Great Mills, 60-12. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Cortez Bush was the best wideout in the league this week as Leonardtown lost to Huntingtown. Bush racked up 10 receptions for 162 yards. Kai Skuza helped Leonardtown's passing attack out by catching four balls for 56 yards.
Boone threw for 195 yards and four touchdowns. He was 10-14 with one interceptions.
Arnez Bowens was the most productive running back in Southern Maryland this week. He ran for 261 yards on 14 carries as the Hurricanes fell to the Hurricanes. Colton Rowe also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.
Zac Sparshott provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Leonardtown fell to Huntingtown. He completed 17 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 15 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Brandon Battle of North Point is the league leader in passing yards this season with 847. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Michael Nines' team's Stephen Stewart has rushed for 753 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Harrell. The McDonough star has 20 catches for 525 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Brendan Galligan's team and Patuxent. The Hurricanes enters the contest ranked 16th in the state, while Steve Crounse's team ranks 11th.
There should be lots of points scored when Huntingtown and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Hurricanes comes in having scored 228 this season, while Patuxent has scored 215. Huntingtown scored 42 points last week as it topped the Raiders.
McDonough was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Eagles. The Rams came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 31 last week.
