The Plattsmouth Blue Devils lost against the Concordia Mustangs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Plattsmouth took a serious blow against the Mustangs, falling 62-34. Plattsmouth has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Plattsmouth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gage Olsen, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Derek Nanke, who scored five points.
Plattsmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Concordia, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plattsmouth will challenge the Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Concordia, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights on Tuesday. Mount Michael Benedictine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Mustangs are ranked fifth).
