Volleyball Recap: Berlin Wins Going Away Against Tolland

Berlin won the last time they faced Tolland and things went their way on Friday too. The Redcoats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redcoats.

While Berlin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 25-18.

Kaley Alkas paced Berlin's offense, picking up six kills. Alkas got some help from Mya Lamoureux and her 16 assists. Victoria Borissov and Maddie Burghoff kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Berlin's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Tolland, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Berlin and Tolland will both be playing Avon the next time they take the court. The Redcoats will host the Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
