Freeman's rating takes into account games going back to 2003, giving fans and readers and unmatched look at the high school football landscape over the past 15 years.
We head out West for a look at California, which has produced the more national champions (five) than any other state over the last 15 years. Its also claimed 49 spots in the national Top 25 over the same time.
California has claimed four of the last five national champions: Mater Dei (2017), St. John Bosco (2013) and De La Salle (2014 and 2015).
