The Whitinsville Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopedale. Whitinsville Christian has struggled against Hopedale recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Deters, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Plantinga, who scored 12 points.
Patrick Madden was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points for Hopedale. Robbie Manning was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Whitinsville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hopedale, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitinsville Christian will take on Blackstone-Millville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Blackstone-Millville is ranked 246th, while Whitinsville Christian is ranked 225th). As for Hopedale, they will head out on the road to take on Sutton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
