The Loranger Wolves will venture away from home to square off against Ascension Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Loranger knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Ascension Christian likes a good challenge.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Loranger turned things around against Franklinton on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Demons by a score of 12-8.
The team relied heavily on Daisy Rodriguez, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 contests. Rylee Bordelon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Loranger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ascension Christian). Everything went their way against North Iberville on Thursday as they made off with a 21-0 win. The result was nothing new for Ascension Christian, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Emory Walter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Lila Cate Leblanc was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Gurrola, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
The victory got Ascension Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Loranger, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.
Loranger beat Ascension Christian 9-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
