Softball Recap: Redwood Has No Trouble Against Novato

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Marin, Redwood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Novato Hornets as they made off with a 12-5 victory. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Stella Belluomini was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Belluomini was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Brown was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Gia Meyers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Redwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Redwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Novato, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
