The University School of Jackson Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on East Hickman County with a sharp 67-47 victory on Friday. Given University School of Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while East Hickman County is ranked 276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University School of Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mills Terry, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Smith, who scored 19 points.
University School of Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for East Hickman County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-9.
University School of Jackson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jackson Central Merry at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Jackson Central Merry comes in still looking for their first win of the season. East Hickman County will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Stewart County at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Stewart County is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
