Preble Shawnee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Apking, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Apking is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Tri-County North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bella Cherry out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Leinani Garcia was another key player, going 7 of 17 on her way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Preble Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Tri-County North, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Preble Shawnee will venture away from home to face off against Eaton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
