The Uintah Utes were the 48-47 winner over the Emery Spartans when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Uintah ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-44 walloping at the hands of Emery on Thursday.
Uintah's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zoey Glenn, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Gilroy, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Leading Emery to victory were Kenadie Maughan and Katelyn Nielson. Maughan scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds, while Nielson scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The game was Nielson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aliya Lester, who scored 10 points along with 5 steals.
Uintah now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Emery, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Uintah will stay at home for another game and welcome Manti at 1:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Emery, they will square off against Fruita Monument at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
