The Westminster Christian Warriors will challenge the Larkin Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westminster Christian has three straight victories, Larkin has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Larkin's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Westminster Christian hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Warriors never let Schaumburg Christian get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Warriors have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Elijah Geu, who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep Schaumburg Christian off the board. Geu also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Westminster Christian is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Sam Dries was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Bartolome, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Larkin fell victim to Glenbard South and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Raiders.
Larkin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aden Mora, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Westminster Christian pushed their record up to 12-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Larkin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-22.
Westminster Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Larkin, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Westminster Christian continue to outrun the ball?
Westminster Christian might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Larkin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
