Softball Recap: Lakeside Has No Trouble Against Cross Creek

Lakeside's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Cross Creek Razorbacks with a sharp 13-3 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Razorbacks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

MAKALEIGH WHITE made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. WHITE was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, LAUREN CONLEY was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was ADDISON HAM, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lakeside's record is now 6-8. As for Cross Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.

Lakeside and Cross Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 199th) will meet Effingham County (ranked 29th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cross Creek will face off against Harlem at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (249 vs. 46).
