Futures has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Fire Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Futures has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,100 points over their last 15 games.
Last Friday, Futures strolled past the Waves with points to spare, taking the game 59-41.
Futures got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keylen Garth out in front who scored 17 points along with seven assists and three steals. Garth hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Deonta Dorrough, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Victory Christian on the road by a decisive 50-35 margin. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning has struggled against the Vikings recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Futures pushed their record up to 21-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Futures against the Fire Wolves when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 74-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Futures since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
