The Delavan Panthers were the 39-35 winner over the Peoria Heights Patriots when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Delavan fell 47-40 to Peoria Heights on Saturday. Delavan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Hansen, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Cole Noreuil was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Delavan now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Peoria Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Delavan will head out on the road to square off against Lewistown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewistown has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Peoria Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
