New Albany (Ohio) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as they ran for a touchdown with 11:00 remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Mansfield Senior (Mansfield, Ohio) 26-22.
The Eagles led 17-13 at halftime, but the Tygers recaptured the lead on a
Jalen Reese touchdown pass to
Chekiah Washington with 2:00 remaining in the third.
By the end of the third, New Albany found itself trailing by one point as Mansfield Senior captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. MS scored on a touchdown pass by Reese to Washington and a two-point conversion in the quarter.
The loss comes after Mansfield Senior defeated Licking Heights 24-0 last week. With the win NA extended its winning streak to three games.
Mansfield Senior (11-1) goes up against New Albany in a playoff game matchup next week, while New Albany (11-1) locks horns with Mansfield Senior also in a playoff game.
