In what's become a running theme this season, the Avon Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Westport with a sharp 61-36 win. Winning may never get old, but Avon sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Avon to victory were Nyisah Miranda and Josiah Guerrier. Miranda almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists, while Guerrier dropped a double-double on 14 points and 22 rebounds. Guerrier also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Ashad Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Avon's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24 points. As for Westport, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-23.
Avon will stay at home for another game and welcome Diman RVT at 5:00 p.m. on February 12th. Avon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 462 points over their last seven games. As for Westport, they will head out on the road to challenge Southeastern RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Southeastern RVT and Westport are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
