The Deer Valley Skyhawks will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Goldwater Bulldogs at 3:45  p.m. Deer Valley is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Deer Valley gave their fans yet another huge  win on Tuesday. They never let Cactus onto the board and left with  a   21-0  victory. Deer Valley's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Adyson Ordway was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Ordway has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Ordway was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Leila Hermosillo, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  runs and four  RBI.  Avyanah Seely was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Goldwater suffered a  rough 13-3 defeat at the hands of Estrella Foothills  on Tuesday. Goldwater has not had much luck with Estrella Foothills recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
  Adrianna Trufin was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with a  stolen base and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avrie White, who  went 3-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Deer Valley pushed their record up to 15-8 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.0 runs per game. As for Goldwater, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Deer Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.3  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Goldwater struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 6.8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Everything went Deer Valley's way against Goldwater in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023 as Deer Valley made off with  an  11-1 victory. Will Deer Valley repeat their success,  or does  Goldwater have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
