Park Rapids is 2-8 against Pequot Lakes since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Park Rapids Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Pequot Lakes Patriots at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Park Rapids has not done well against Hawley recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Park Rapids walked away with a 73-62 victory over Hawley. The victory was just what Park Rapids needed coming off of a 80-43 defeat in their prior match.
Park Rapids got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Larson out in front who scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Larson has scored at least 25% of Park Rapids' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Morris, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pequot Lakes didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Grand Rapids on Friday, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pequot Lakes.
Park Rapids now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pequot Lakes, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
