Addyson Faucette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Oxford Prep let Hailey Crowder and Makala Roberson run wild. Crowder scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Roberson went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Elizabeth Baker also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Vance Charter pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Oxford Prep, their record now sits at 8-2.
Oxford Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vance Charter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. It's a different story for Oxford Prep, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Vance Charter's hitters?
Everything went Vance Charter's way against Oxford Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Vance Charter made off with an 11-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
