The Pleasant Hill Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Pleasant Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Pleasant Hill made easy work of Routt Catholic and carried off a 13-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

Ava Wombles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaitlyn Borrowman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Coy also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] took on Greenfield/Northwestern on Thursday. The Cougars fell 10-7 to the Tigers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hallee Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Brylee Lawson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Myah Little was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Pleasant Hill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]'s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pleasant Hill has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Pleasant Hill's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Pleasant Hill took their win against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
